Russ DewburyRuss Dewbury
From his debut in 1986, Russ has become one of the most influential and highly respected figures on the global dance/jazz scene, both as DJ and as a champion of live music via the legendary Brighton Jazz Bop sessions.

Russ was the man behind the BGP label (through Ace Records), which introduced Terry Callier, New Rotary Connection and Gary Bartz to a new audience. He compiled the hugely successful Africa/Funk compilations (Harmless Recordings) and continues to release music through his own label (Counterpoint), seeking to combine the best of past and present genres. Russ runs the Jazz Rooms & the Jazz Bop from Brighton, but also DJs extensively from the UK to Australia!

Russ DewburyStuart Chalk
A resident Dj at The Brighton Jazz Rooms since 1993 and played alongside a wide range of dj's including Dom Servini, Nicola Conte, Nik Weston, Andrew Jervis, Kevin Beadle and of course Russ Dewbury.
His interest in the world of Jazz and it's use as a club/dancefloor medium began in mid 1980's Birmingham where he began Dj'ing and co hosted such nights as Club Cu-Bop and The Jazz Tinge (long since disappeared into the mists of time!)
As a long term record collector his tastes range from retrospective sounds from the 50's,60's and 70's up to present times and the "nu jazz" scene of the last 10 years taking in along the way all the various related genres. He has a particular love for music with a Brazilian flavour and a wallet deflating interest in Japanese imports!
